Matthew has worked in various artistic ventures since 1982 in the Wellington music scene.
He became a full time ceramist in 1993, spending two years self tuition before strting Stepahead Ceramcis and developing number of successful tapa inspired tableware designs with Natalie Couch and Penny Kerr.
He operated Design Connection, an NZ object gallery in Auckand from 1996-2001, before trveling overseas to market his ceramics, then being produced by Studio Ceramics.
Now based in Napier he is focusing on building a small ceramic factory, in partnership with Jo Nisbet, to focus on collectable works.
